Cartmel Switch on of Christmas Lights

Date: 30th Nov 2018 @ 10:34pm

What an exhilarating evening!  The Angel Festival in The Priory is amazing and our entry looked spectacular.  All the children in school contributed by designing their own angel.  The Ethos Group then worked with Reverend Nick and myself to choose elements from the different designs to produce a final design.  Imogen artistically transferred these to paper and then enlarged them to the 'real' angel.  With the help of Zara and Honor, they then worked diligently to paint and collage the final piece.  I'm sure you'll agree it looks spectacular and it is impressive to think that the only adult contribution was in the use of the hot glue gun for the braiding on the angel wings and in cutting circles for the waist and headband.  I am SO proud of all the girls for their help with this project.  Many people in The Priory commented how lovely it was.  Do take the opportunity to visit over the next week, if you get chance.

The children and their parents processed down the main street with their lanterns and assembed with much excitement as Father Christmas arrived in a horse drawn carriage, complete with a familiar elf in the back seat!  The reindeers were a conversation stopper, music very jolly and mince pies very tasty!  A good evening was had by all and it was a joy and privilege to be part of our thriving and community spirited village.

With thanks to everyone for their contributions!

With best wishes,

Mrs Battersby
