English Touring Opera Company

What a superb production yesterday from the English Touring Opera Company.  The team of 4 singers, 3 musicians and a stage manager, performed their show to a packed hall of around 160 pupils from Cartmel, Flookbrough, Leven Valley and Grange schools.  The story followed the journey of sea life, endangered species, recycling and caring for our environment.  The puppetry, song, music and inventive set and props captured the imaginations of our young people and it was certainly a thought provoking show.  The cast stressed the importance of 'noticing' the world around us and getting rid of 'things' which clutter our environment.  Important messages in today's world.  It was wonderful to welcome such accomplished musicians to school and fabuolous for the children to be able to experience theatre and music of this quality on home turf! My grateful thanks to the other schools who chose to participate in this venture and make it a viable proposition.
