Headteacher Friday Update 17th January 2020

Date: 17th Jan 2020 @ 10:51am

This week has seen the start of our new dance sessions with Miss Jayne.  The children were really engaged in the lessons and feedback from both staff and Miss Jayne was excellent.  We hope that having this continued external professional expertise can enrich the children's learning experiences within the PE curriculum.

It has been my pleasure this week to work alongside classes 2 and 3 in music.  They are working really hard on the Big Sing songs but we have also been covering the history of music and listening to works from Tallis and Bach, Renaissance and Baroque composers respectively.  The children's comments and insights were wonderful.

Next Friday we will be having a special treat for all the children in school.  The Friends are putting some of their fundraised money towards a Lego Workshop for the children.  KS1's will focus around the theme of our village, with KS2 looking at Electric Circuits - Movement and Light.  We hope it will be a very enjoyable day for everyone concerned.  There will therefore be no Celebration Assembly next week, as the hall will be in use.

Wishing you all a great weekend,

Mrs Battersby
