Headteacher Friday Update 22nd March 2019

Date: 22nd Mar 2019 @ 9:24am

The week started in musical fashion with our visit from The English Touring Opera for KS2 children.  The performance reflected on sea life, endangered species and protection of the environment and it was a joy to have such talented musicians in school.  This visit will contribute to our work towards Artsmark which we have started this year.  We already do much to support a creative curriculum and this will be a way of formalising the impact of this work and finding new and engaging projects and ways to support the children's learning.  We will also be looking at developing skills for life through this Artsmark work, in line with our Mission Statement; ensuring our young people go out into the world as confident, independent, responsible citizens with a love for learning.

For further information please take a look at:  www.artsmark.org.uk

There are plenty of opportunities to work in a cross curricular fashion, involving science subjects, computing, topic and sports, to continue to ensure that we are able to offer the children the rich and varied curriulum they deserve.

Wishing you all a super weekend,

Mrs Battersby
