Headteacher Friday Update 23rd October 2020

Date: 23rd Oct 2020 @ 2:19pm

Well, our first half term is finally drawing to a close.  It's certainly been a very different one!  I'm delighted to report that Class 3 had a great day at Vindolanda yesterday.  I was fortunate to hear their stories and see the photographs this morning.  It was a varied trip, with lots of hands on learning and exploration.  The children were challenged by the artefacts in the museum and even made their own swords!  They seemed excited and chatty about their experiences, which was wonderful to share in.  My grateful thanks to Mrs Yarrow, Miss Lace and Mrs Beston for making the trip possible under the most tricky circumstances.  It's good to know that everyone felt very safe and cared for during the day.  We hope that Classes 1 and 2 will be able to take a trip later in the year.

As we look ahead to Christmas, I will be sorry not to be with you for a short time following the half term break.  You will all be in the very capable hands of Mr Nicol from Leven Valley.  Our dedicated staff team will also ensure the smooth running of school during my planned absence.  I know you will be both supportive and understanding of the situation and thank you in advance for your patience.

Wishing you all a relaxing and recharging half term break.

Best wishes,

Mrs Battersby
