Headteacher Friday Update 17th June 2022

What a hectic but exciting week we’ve had!  Towerwood was a fantastic experience last Friday, with the children enjoying climbing trees, ghyll scrambling, orienteering, team games and walking.  It was a pity we couldn’t get on the water but the winds were just too high.  However, a great day was had by all.

Monday saw Classes 1 and 2 visit Dove Cottage.  They enjoyed a woodland experience, tour around the cottage and a workshop in the fabulous new education room.  The Wordsworth Trust staff visited us on Tuesday and continued the learning in a series of workshops.

Grateful thanks to Miss Taylor-Crozier and Mrs Walker respectively for organising these trips.

Please do save the dates of Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th (back up day!) July in your diaries for the Commonwealth Cluster Event at Cartmel Priory School.  This is similar to the Olympics event held a number of years ago (for those who were with us then), where all the cluster primaries meet for a wonderful day of sport.  Coaches for different disciplines will give pupils taster sessions throughout the day, with athletics competitions also running.  Parents/carers are welcome to attend and watch the day unfold.  There will be processions, a band, flag waving and even dancing!  It promises to be a very special event, so please do try to get there, if at all possible.  More details will follow regarding logistics soon!

Wishing you a super weekend,

Mrs Battersby
