Headteacher Friday Update 21st May 2021

What a creative week in school this week!  The children seem to be enjoying engaging with the CHOL Theatre Company work.  They have been making use of outdoor learning, creating their imaginary community in the orchard at the front of school.  I looked out of the window mid-week to see Class 3 with bundles of tissue paper, creating a river down the centre of the space and building bridges over it!  Class 2 were utilising physical theatre representations of characters in the setting – it was all great to see!  Class 1 created their own island.  The children drew pictures of things they wanted on the island and lots of fun was had!  The teachers have noticed the impact on vocabulary use and adjectives for description stemming from the work already, which is wonderful to hear.

Class 3 had an exciting, if very soggy, trip to Brockhole.  They enjoyed the Tree Top Trek and exhibition space, before completing their final orienteering session.  They arrived back exhausted and wet but very happy!

I hope you have a lovely weekend.
