Class 1 Homework Challenges 28.9.18

Date: 28th Sep 2018 @ 5:05pm

Please find a list of challenges which you may like to do with your child linked to our learning this week:

- doubles! Some children painted shapes on one side of the paper then folded it. They then opened the sheet and counted to find double.

- numbers 10-20. The teen numbers can be particularly tricky to master. You could try writing out the numbers on bits of paper, then getting your child to put them in order. Can they put the correct number of stones on the corresponding number?

- numbers beyond 20 (for some children). You could write out 5 or more numbers beyond 20 onto bits of paper. Can they put them in order? Can they tell you which is the largest number? Which is the smallest number?

- handwriting letter formation. We are looking at the caterpillar letter formation family this half term. You could get your child to accurately paint 'c' shapes to help them master this anticlockwise movement. It's great fun doing this with a big paintbrush and a bucket of water on the driveway/side of your house.

-Ospreys! - today we read a book called 'Yum, yum.' There was an Osprey in the book. You could visit the Osprey nest near Witherslack.

I hope you all have a super weekend :)
