The PE and Sport Premium is a ring-fenced government-backed funding grant for state-funded primary schools in England. Its goal is to improve the quality of physical education (PE), physical activity, and school sport provision.

- Purpose: To help schools build sustainable capacity in PE, increase daily physical activity, broaden sports access, and offer competitive opportunities.
- Funding Model: The 2026/27 academic year operates as a transitional phase. Schools receive a one-off transition payment before the model shifts into a new national PE and School Sport Partnerships Network from Spring 2027.
- Allocation Rates (2026/27):
- £390 per pupil for schools with 16 or fewer eligible pupils.
- £6,240 base amount plus £10 per additional pupil for schools with 17 or more pupils.
