Headteacher Friday Update 12th January 2024

Date: 11th Jan 2024 @ 9:07am

Dear Parent/Carer,

On this first full week of the new Spring Term, we have started our dance sessions with Miss Jayne. Each class is having a session every Tuesday. Miss Jayne was very impressed on the first lesson at the children's improvement in dance skills since the last time they met. She also commented on the superb behaviour of our children throughout the lessons to me. Wonderful to have such lovely feedback from a visiting teacher.

Mr Blair is working with us as usual every Wednesday afternoon and also holding his sports club after school for KS2 pupils. Please let the office know if your child would like to attend.

Please could I give a gentle reminder of plain PE kits for the above sessions and not branded goods. It is also vital that children are not wearing jewellery (necklaces/chains etc) in school on any day please, unless of religious significance, which can be removed for PE. This is to ensure safety within these sessions in particular.

Piano and violin have both restarted and the children are making some good progress. Learning from these sessions is definitely filtering down into class music sessions with me, as their technical knowledge develops and I am able to give opportunities for reading music and sharing learning.

Attached is a newsletter from our Governing Body which I hope you enjoy reading.

With best wishes for a lovely weekend.

Mrs Battersby
