Headteacher Friday Update 2nd October 2020

Date: 2nd Oct 2020 @ 1:56pm

This week has seen an increase in our use of Seesaw for Classes 2 and 3.  Family app logins are also coming home to enable families to view their child's journal and comment on it.  We hope you begin to find this a useful tool and that it starts to give you a picture of children's learning.  We hope that it will be useful to us all, should the need arise with school closures (fingers crossed we won't need to use it in this capacity!)  Tapestry continues to engage class 1 and their parents and it's so wonderful to see all the creative learning opportunities our young people are experiencing.  I have been particularly impressed this week with their artistic talents, undertaking watercolours.  Thy looked at the use of colour and shading and produced some excellent work.  Well done Class 1!  I've enjoyed seeing the videos posted from some Class 2 and 3 children in response to questions posed on Seesaw.  It's good to hear your voice and gather your ideas in school.  Children enjoyed their sports lessons this week with Cumbria Cricket and the after school club was well attended, if a little on the damp side!  With the hall in use for class 1, we are unable to move this club indoors, so please do bear with us if we have to cancel it last minute on any occasion due to the weather.  These are challenging times and we appreciate your understanding on this.

Wishing you all a very good weekend.
