Headteacher Friday Update 5th November 2021

Date: 5th Nov 2021 @ 2:11pm

After a very hectic week, we are gearing up for one which will be even more so next week!  ‘Cartmel Curiosity Week’ is taking place throughout the whole of the week.  This is being driven by Claire Welburn and Helen Bennett and my grateful thanks goes to both of them.  They have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to organise and co-ordinate visitors, trips and other activities.  We are also being supported by Cartmel Village Society in this project.

The overarching idea is to produce a Heritage Booklet which we will be getting professionally designed, written and printed to be sold in the local shops and businesses.  It will contain a trail around our village and points of interest.  It will be interactive, with QR codes for family entertainment.  There is much work to do but a very exciting opportunity.

Next week will see the children meeting a graphic designer and editor and working on artwork and puzzles for the booklet.  They will also be visiting the Gatehouse and having a tour.  Any parents who may be free to help on Wednesday morning, please let the office know.

We hope the week will be a very creative, fun and engaging time for all the children and adults alike.  We will be off timetable and there will be much flexibility in activities.  This work also links in with our Artsmark journey which is continuing on from CHOL Theatre activities last academic year.

Please remember violin is now on Tuesday morning next week, for those learning!  Piano remains on Tuesday as normal.

Looking forward to getting creative next week!

Have a great weekend and a super Bonfire Night!
